Small Sized, Focused Classes
Each course is 8 weeks. All classes meet 1 day a week for 3 hours per week. Online classes are maximum of 4 people.
Meet Amber
Amber is a degreed, professional, trained, educator. As an experienced seamstress, certified sewing machine mechanic, seasoned designer, passionate artist, and joyful maker, she provides top-notch instruction, offering both private and small group class sessions, so you can choose exactly the learning style you like best.
Sewing and creating is in her blood. At only 7yrs old, Amber's mother and grandmother became her first sewing instructors, which instilled in her a love for artistry and craftsmanship. Since then, Amber has been technically and professionally trained with over 250+ hours of sewing, serging, and embroidery classes from amazing teachers. She is a certified sewing machine mechanic and technician, and her long time mentor has worked for almost every sewing machine company in existence, passing years of knowledge/experience on to Amber. This gives Amber a unique advantage helping students learn their specific machines, no matter which one they might use or own.
Amber has been a professional seamstress for over two decades, sewing and designing everything from home decor items to couture clothing. She is skilled in all areas of sewing, mending, quilting, serging, machine and hand embroidery, tailoring, alterations, and more!
Before starting her online programs, Amber was a sewing teacher for several years, offering private lessons and serving as an instructor at a local career technical school. Amber now serves as a sewing instructor at OK Contemporary Studio School, teaches students across the globe in her online classes, and offers in-person and online private lessons.
Years ago, when she wanted to further the pursuit of her own sewing, Amber sought to learn more in-depth, hands-on training in the field. She was frustrated with YouTube tutorials, short demonstrations, and pieced together technical information from books. She was hard pressed to find classes that taught the comprehensive fundamentals of sewing, detailing in-depth techniques, and providing practical applications for sewing skills. She desperately wanted to learn more than the theory of sewing, more than just how to do small craft projects—she wanted to understand the potential of herself, her machine, and how it all fit together with a diverse availability of fabric, thread, and tools.
Taking all her collected knowledge from experience and years of study, Amber created the courses she wishes would have been available to her when she began her own sewing journey. With a deep desire to instill in her students a love of this valuable art, she has developed courses that provide a comprehensive, fun-filled learning experience, all in one place. Amber believes you can gain more knowledge and skills, in a shorter time, with her proven effective linear curriculum format.
Amber's teaching approach is distinguished by the high level of service and support she provides to her students, a deep knowledge of proven techniques, tips, and tricks, a uniquely fun, patient, friendly teaching style, and most importantly, the deep desire to create beauty in the world, make people's lives better, and to love life and others with abandon.
